Preparing your luggage

You can get an idea of what sort of temperature to expect by visiting, every day before your travel, TimesSquareNYC.org. Not only can you consult the weather but in the same link you will be able to check the actual weather conditions "in situ" and if at the time of checking, it is raining, snowing, if its hot, what time the dawn breaks, what time the sun sets etc…, and of course what sort of clothes the New Yorkers are wearing in the days prior to your arrival via the web cams that the Times Square Alliance have installed in the centre of Manhattan.

Be practical when it comes to packing your suitcase. Consult the published travel recommendations to the United States, for example the offical web page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Spanish Government.

For your own information, it is a good idea to consult the international airport safety laws.

Dont forget to take something to read in your luggage.

It is a good opportunity to go over your traditional travel guides. The El País Aguilar or Anaya are a some of the most well known and comprehensive guides. Any of these guides are well complemented by the Condè Nast (Traveler), which has also been recently edited (we handle the 2004 edition), that offers a more innovative vision of what to do and where to visit in New York. Thanks to its format it proves to be very manageable and useful. If you are looking for something more special, choose Time Out. It is normally edited in English has a lot of attention to detail and little graphic information, which can makes it a little more dense to read than other guides that are normally more visual. However it does contain a great volume of information about local places, businesses, restaurants etc… and is perfectly classified and complete which makes it useful to find local addresses. For your trip to New York you can get hold of various editions on different subject matter: Time Out New York is the classic edition by Kevin Mulvihill, with all information about New York. The Spanish edition is called the same although it is less frequently updated. Time Out Short-List is a summarized edition, which has a more competitive price than the classic editon. Time Out New York Eating and Drinking 2008 presents itself as more of a synopsis of the best bars and restaurants in New York. You can find the Time Out guides in a wide range of bookshops in New York. They are also available on the Barnes & Noble web site.
